Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc Les Setilles, 2019
A lovely baby Burgundy of predominantly Côte d’Or parentage. It comes mainly from the vineyards situated below Puligny and Meursault classified as Bourgogne along with a little from the Hautes Côtes. This year because of the small crop 75% is fermented in barrel (usually it’s about 50%) and 25% in tank. The concentration of the vintage and the extra density form the greater proportion of barrel-fermented wine has produced a wine that is dense and rich for a Bourgogne. Unfortunately the bottle labels have slight bin soiling, hence the discount.
