CAVE DE TAIN RHÔNE, FRANCE
13% | 75cl | Cork Marsanne 94% , Roussanne 6% Vegetarian, Vegan, Sustainable
Interesting white Rhône produced from selected plots of old vine Marsanne.
PRODUCTION
The 65-hectare appellation Saint Péray is situated in the Northern Côtes-du-Rhône, right bank, just south of Cornas. Saint Péray benefits from a continental climate with Mediterranean influence. The soil is composed of granite overlaid with chalk and clay. Grapes are hand-picked and selected from the best plots of old vines, with some vines over 60 years old and each plot vinified separately. Fermentation is in both oak and cuve with the malo partially in wood followed by 12 months ageing in 400l barrels 25% new.
TASTING NOTE
The palate is rich, quite vinous with ripe stone fruit flavours and a soft mineral, saline edge that is typical of the appellation. Complex and long finish.
FOOD MATCH
Chicken and fish in a cream sauce
