Katherine’s Vineyard Chardonnay is an ocean inf luenced, single vineyard expression of “refrigerated sunshine” in a glass – layered, elegant, distinct.
WINEMAKER NOTES
“Fresh fruit and oral aromas dominate the nose and palate; white peach, lemon zest, pear, Granny Smith apple and citrus blossoms. The oak influence creates a nice mid-palate, the wine shows a balanced acidity that carries through in the long ‑nish.” – Jill Russell, Winemaker
KATHERINE’S VINEYARD
Katherine’s Vineyard, named for Katie Jackson in 1986, consists of ancient soils with fossilized seashells, shale, limestone and sand, with fog swept vines that have endured since the 1970s.
TECHNICAL DATA
COMPOSITION: 100% Chardonnay
CLONES: 80% old vine Clone 4.
Additional clones are Wente 76, 96.
ALCOHOL: 14.1%
WINEMAKING: Whole cluster pressed;
75% barrel fermented; 25% stainless steel fermented. 75% Malolactic fermentation. Aged sur lie for 9 months in 20% new French oak.
